PinSnap collects your device's GPS location data to transmit geolocation information to your Sony camera. This is the core functionality of our app:
- Latitude and Longitude: Sent to your paired Sony camera for geotagging photos
- GPS Accuracy: Used to determine location quality before transmission
- Movement Speed: Used to optimize location update frequency
Important: Location data is transmitted directly from your iPhone to your Sony camera via Bluetooth. We do not store, transmit to servers, or retain your location history on our systems.
1.2 Bluetooth Information
We access your device's Bluetooth to connect to Sony cameras:
- Camera device name and identifier (for pairing)
- Connection status (connected/disconnected)
1.3 Subscription Information
We process subscription data through Apple's App Store:
- Subscription status (trial, active, expired)
- Transaction identifiers (handled by Apple)
- Purchase history (handled by Apple)
We do not collect or store your payment information.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Core Functionality: Transmit GPS coordinates to your Sony camera
- Subscription Management: Verify and manage your subscription status
- Notifications: Alert you when camera connects/disconnects
- Customer Support: Assist with technical issues
3. Data Storage and Security
3.1 Local Storage
PinSnap stores the following information locally on your device:
- Paired camera UUID and name
- GPS accuracy preference (Power Save vs Precise)
- Onboarding completion status
- Subscription entitlement status
3.2 No Server Storage
PinSnap operates entirely on your device. We do not:
- Operate backend servers
- Store your location history
- Transmit your data to third parties
- Track your movements over time
3.3 Bluetooth Security
Communication between your iPhone and Sony camera uses standard Bluetooth security protocols. Pairing information is stored securely by iOS.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or transfer your personal information to third parties. The only data sharing occurs:
- Apple: Subscription transactions are processed by Apple's App Store
- Sony Camera: Location data is transmitted directly to your paired camera via Bluetooth
- Legal Requirements: If required by law or to protect our rights
5. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access: Request information about data we hold about you
- Deletion: Unpair your camera to remove stored camera information
- Revoke Permissions: Disable location or Bluetooth access in iOS Settings
- Opt-out: Stop using the app and delete it from your device
6. Subscription and Payments
PinSnap offers auto-renewable subscriptions through Apple's In-App Purchase system:
- Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple
- We never see or store your credit card information
- You can manage or cancel subscriptions in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions
- Free trial availability and duration is displayed before purchase
7. Children's Privacy
PinSnap is not intended for use by children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
