Quick Start Guide
Setting Up PinSnap
- Download PinSnap from the App Store and open the app
- Complete the onboarding process (Bluetooth and Location permissions)
- Enable Bluetooth on your Sony camera (check your camera manual for GPS settings)
- Tap the power button in PinSnap to start the service
- Select your camera from the discovered devices list
- Wait for "Connected" status - your camera is now receiving GPS data!
Pro Tip: Once paired, PinSnap will automatically reconnect to your camera when both devices are in range and the service is enabled.

Which Sony cameras are compatible with PinSnap?
PinSnap works with Sony cameras that support Bluetooth GPS tagging. Compatible models include:

How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel your subscription at any time through your iPhone:
- Open Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions
- Find "PinSnap" in the list
- Tap "Cancel Subscription"
You can continue using PinSnap until the end of your current billing period.
Does PinSnap drain my iPhone battery?
PinSnap is designed to be battery-efficient:
- Adjustable GPS accuracy modes (Power Save vs Precise)
- Smart throttling - updates less frequently when stationary
- Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) for minimal power consumption
- Background updates pause when camera is disconnected
For extended shoots, we recommend using Power Save mode or bringing a portable battery pack.
Can I use PinSnap with multiple cameras?
PinSnap can only connect to one camera at a time. To switch cameras:
- Tap the currently paired camera name on the main screen
- Select "Unpair Camera"
- Pair with your new camera
Does PinSnap work without an internet connection?
Yes! PinSnap works entirely offline. The app uses your iPhone's GPS chip and Bluetooth to communicate directly with your camera. No internet connection, Wi-Fi, or cellular data is required for core functionality.
Internet is only needed for:
- Initial app download and updates
- Subscription verification
- Restoring purchases

Sony Camera GPS Settings
To use PinSnap with your Sony camera, you need to enable location services in your camera's menu:
- Open Menu: Press the Menu button on your camera
- Navigate to Network: Go to the Network or Connectivity section
- Find Location Info: Look for "Location Info Link" or "GPS" settings
- Enable Bluetooth: Turn on Bluetooth if not already enabled

Troubleshooting
Connection Issues
"Failed to Connect" error
- Ensure both devices have sufficient battery
- Restart PinSnap and your camera
- Check that no other device is connected to your camera's Bluetooth
- Unpair and re-pair the camera in PinSnap settings
GPS location not updating
- Check that Location Services are enabled for PinSnap in iOS Settings
- Ensure you have a clear view of the sky for GPS signal
- Try switching between Power Save and Precise GPS modes in Settings
- Restart your iPhone's location services
Subscription Issues
Subscription not recognized
- Open PinSnap Settings and tap "Restore Purchases"
